Foggydale Farm Jam Sessions was a real labour of love. For 52 weeks of the year, I endeavoured to grow and preserve a different seasonal crop - from spring strawberries to autumn quinces. More than 500 jars of jams and jellies were made along the way, with Mum, my mother-in-law and my two sons at hand to help stir the pot. Most of those preserves were donated to Mercy Hospice at the annual Heroic Garden Festival.
If you love gardening, or preserving, I hope you love my new book. It's full of honest advice, practical gardening information, back-to-basics preserving pointers, memories (new and old), fruit tree variety recommendations and local characters, with a little bit of husband-baiting for good measure!
In 2016, I'll be holding preserving workshops around the country as part of my Traffic Jam book tour. Check out my website www.lyndahallinan.com or my Facebook page ("Lynda Hallinan Gardening") for details as they are confirmed.
Happy gardening & cooking,
Lynda H
